The Love Story
I had the honor to encounter Maryann in 1989, in Apache
Junction Arizona. The first time I laid my eyes on her was, for me, love at first site.
But Maryann, for my thinking was a bit to young for me. We became very good close friends and did share some very quality conversations and moments together. We did stay in contact over the years via personal visits, phone calls, letters and e-mail. I visited her again
in 2002, in Colorado. We are now 13 years later and this time, the sparks
where flying and magic was in the air. I presented her a feather in a gazebo
in Manitou CO as a unspoken token of my feelings for her. She gracefully accepted. (Be sure to look for the picture of Maryann holding the feather)
In around the same time, she found a necklace (painted between the roses in the scene below) with the initials "MT", perhaps coincedently?, Stands for "Maryann Teekamp"!
I created this mural in honor for our history together. I invited her to show her the mural, but she never showed up. That's why I painted her in the "Spiritual" form. She is now always present, with open arms, saying "Welcome Home" At this time we are still, (but just), good friends.
